There are few things in trolling.
Depths of Lure is determined by trolling speed, main fishing line thickness, Length of the main fishing line out, and weight of lures. Trolling speed is determined by the target fish (and type of lures). So the depth of lure is set. If the main fishing line is too thick, then more weight is needed for the lure. On the tandem rig, the weight of the inline sinker changes according to the all these factors.
